We were delighted to welcome Kohl's Chief People Officer Mari Steinmetz to campus this week. Her visit included a classroom presentation to students, connections with staff at the School of Human Ecology (including Kohl's Center for Retailing Executive Director Laura Hensen and Dean Soyeon Shim), and a meeting with Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin to discuss Kohl’s impactful partnership with UW–Madison.Kohl’s is a longtime partner that offers crucial financial and student support through the Kohl’s Center for Retailing including in coursework, projects, mentoring, site visits and programming, as well as supporting the Wisconsin School of Business BBA Employer Partner Program. The benefit to students is immense (as evidenced by Mari’s great conversation with students while on campus!), and the outcomes of the partnership are impressive, with more than 450 Badgers currently employed full-time at Kohl’s and countless students benefiting from learning and mentoring opportunities fostered by Kohl’s employees. Thanks to Mari and the Kohl’s team for a great visit and wonderful partnership!
