TIL that LinkedIn has a dark mode (Me => Settings & Privacy => Account Preferences => Display) and you can change the background color in Google Docs (File => Page Setup). It is a good day for my eyes. 🤩

Probably the most succinct differentiation I've seen re: UI vs UX.

It's amazing how the inclusion/exclusion of a single word can impact the user's docs experience. Also, good use of the LinkedIn carousel format :)

This is a cool take on tech debt, though I'm not sure it is that controversial. Seemingly boils down to "Respect the decisions of those who came before you given the constraints they had at the time". (Sounds like Scrum?).Also true that you can either pay tech debt down with maintenance or (eventually) a full rewrite.

I'll start by saying this is not a big deal, and I believe LinkedIn has every right to make some money while providing a pretty useful platform...However, every time I get a "Sponsored" message I am irked by the fact that I have to dismiss it in 2 places.#UX

I thought applying for a job via Workday was bad, but ADP's recruiting software combined with how the employer (whom I shall not name) configured it is truly next level. This includes: * asking the same questions on multiple forms* seeking confirmation that you have read and understand regulations that only apply to cities in OTHER STATES* lack of typeahead for dropdowns (thanks for being in the middle, Ohio)* requiring data entry of 3 referencesEspecially given the sense that a lot of the candidate-provided information is likely either never read or asked for again later in the process; this all just seems like a colossal waste of time.

Until today I never felt the need to call the IRS. Thankfully these instructions were dead on re: how to get a human.
