Sydney Sweeney Doesn't Agree To Every Scene On Euphoria

Sydney Sweeney admitted to it herself, Euphoria can be very hard to shoot, and the same holds true for her closest people watching the show. Sweeney revealed that her dad secretly tried watching the show, but didn't make it through the entire episode. He ended up walking out.

She revealed on Today, "I didn’t prepare my dad at all," she laughed. "So he decided he was going to watch it without telling me, with his parents," she said. “My dad and my grandpa turned it off and walked out. But my grandma, she’s a big supporter of mine.”

Sweeney revealed that in the past, she also skipped out on certain scenes, particularly those that were too revealing, without much of a reason or advancement for her character.

"There are moments where Cassie was supposed to be shirtless and I would tell Sam [Levinson, director], ‘I don’t really think that’s necessary here’ and he was like, ‘OK, we don’t need it.' "

"I’ve never felt like Sam has pushed it on me or was trying to get a nude scene into an HBO show. When I didn’t want to do it, he didn’t make me."

Sweeney went on to admit that although she isn't forced into the scenes, there is an obvious double standard in Hollywood when it comes to nudity.

"When a guy has a sex scene or shows his body, he still wins awards and gets praise. But the moment a girl does it, it’s completely different… I'm very proud of my work in 'Euphoria.' I thought it was a great performance. But no one talks about it because I got naked. I do 'The White Lotus' and all of a sudden critics are paying attention."

Sydney Sweeney will be the first to admit her worst stunt took place in Anyone but You, after being instructed to agitate a spider. This caused a bite, and one that Sweeney wasn't acting up. The pain was genuine.

• “So, we're filming, and then the thing just starts biting me,” said the actress.

"Well, we wanted to bring back big rom-coms, and so to be able to do that, we needed to have big set pieces that took you into the Sydney Harbor and getting picked up by helicopters. I was definitely prepared for it because I helped develop it, but it was fun."
